Physical Education (Gym): Building Strong Bodies and Healthy Habits
At Edison Elementary School, we believe that a strong mind thrives in a strong body. Our Physical Education (Gym) program is a vital part of our curriculum, offering students the opportunity to grow physically, mentally, and socially through movement and play.
In gym class, students engage in age-appropriate activities designed to develop coordination, strength, endurance, teamwork, and sportsmanship. From fun fitness games and obstacle courses in the early grades to structured sports and fitness training in the upper grades, our PE program encourages every student to discover the joy of movement and the benefits of an active lifestyle.
Our dedicated instructors create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment where students can challenge themselves, learn the value of perseverance, and develop a lifelong appreciation for health and wellness. Whether it’s learning how to dribble a basketball, run a mile, or simply move confidently, our gym classes play a key role in shaping well-rounded, confident individuals.
Core Goals of Our PE Program:
- Foster physical fitness and motor skill development
- Teach teamwork, cooperation, and fair play
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices
- Support emotional and social growth through active play
We’re proud to offer a dynamic Physical Education program that gets students moving, smiling, and growing every day
